The true story of moral courage in Afghanistan

Det. 25: A Soldier's Story

Coming Soon to our store.

My contract with Newman Springs has expired, and I will be selling this book in my own store.  Newman Springs never paid me a dime.  They are a ripoff.  They also suppressed the sale of this book because they are Joe Biden puppets.

Background Information
and what people need to know about books and memoirs written by military veterans.

Michael Haley

I had always planned to write this memoir from the very beginning of my tour in Afghanistan, but the draft chapters went into cold storage until Joe Biden botched the withdrawal from Afghanistan. I was inspired to finish the book in response to Biden's idiotic and catastrophic decision to leave Afghanistan before it could be stabilized as a democratic and free nation. Instead, it remains a failed, religious autocracy without any hope of a future for its people. If it had not been for the assistance of my congressman, Senator John Cornyn, the manuscript might still be at DOPSR. Det. 25 tells the story the Democrats do not want the public to know because they continue to believe they can build a nation like the United States elsewhere in the world at the expense of American taxpayers and innocent human lives.  The Democrats also want Americans to hate Russians, but this story is how we should have faith in God, hope for peace, and love for each other. The Democrats failed in Viet Nam and Afghanistan, and they will fail in the Ukraine.

Unlike many other books currently in print about the experiences of Soldiers in Afghanistan or Iraq, this book has been approved for public release by the DOD.  It is a requirement for all Soldiers who held security clearances to acquire permission to publish from the DOD, and most Soldiers who deployed to Afghanistan held security clearances. Few of these other combat veteran writers have complied with the law, and their books are illegitimately published without the release notes that appears in the front of Det. 25: A Soldier's Story.  All military veteran produced publications cleared by DOPSR must have the required statements and proof as appears in the lawfully published Det. 25: A Soldier's Story (See proof below). All military veterans who have published without DOPSR approval are criminals for not complying with their nondisclosure agreements. It takes moral courage to do the right thing.

Det. 25: A Soldier's Story

Book cover

When Sergeant First Class Haley and 35 other Soldiers in Detachment 25 deployed to Afghanistan on a mission to mentor the training and development of the Afghanistan National Army, they did not know how chewed up the situation was.  Selected from volunteers within the Ninety-Fifth Division, the Army Reserve Drill Sergeants of Det. 25 discovered that training the ANA was a joke.  Afghanistan was a toilet that needed to be flushed of its Taliban turds, but that was never going to happen.  What did happen was that the entire world took a crap all over that country and left it more of a mess than it was before Operation Enduring Freedom began.  Nation-building is a failure, and the United States must never again attempt it anywhere else in the world.  Whenever someone tells the truth about military or political incompetence in the United States, the government feigns plausible deniability or tries to suppress the truth.  This story tells the truth about a group of American heroes and legends who did not deserve a loss for their sacrifices.  Thanks to the worst President in American history, the loss of American lives has become a joke.  Americans can only laugh about OEF because there is nothing else anyone can do, except to have faith, hope, and love.

Quotes

"It was not a joke!"

Joe Biden,

46th President of the United States.

He was the joke.

I am a retired military veteran who proudly served the USA for more than 20 years.  I was a Drill Sergeant while serving in the Army Reserves, but I also served as a First Sergeant, Training NCO, and a Director of Instruction at an Army Reserve NCO academy as a Staff Sergeant Major.  I received my 20 year letter when my security clearance expired.  Because the Army Reserves were struggling with both funding and manpower, I opted to leave for retirement rather than stay any longer.  It was 2016 and Donald Trump was going to change all of that situation.  At 56 years of age, it was simply time for me to let someone younger take charge.  Soldiering is for the brave and the bold, but it is not the best occupation for the old and tired.

I took this video while on a convoy in Light Truck Vehicles (LTVs) in Kabul, Afghanistan.  This is what Jalalabad Road looked like early in 2007.  By May of 2007,  our Ford Ranger LTVs were no longer authorized for travel outside of the wire.  I write about this kind of risky travel in the book.  We were very vulnerable to attacks in these unarmored vehicles.  American Soldiers still drove unarmored cargo trucks in convoys along with armored Humvees, but many other NATO force Soldiers drove unarmored four wheel drive Toyotas and Mercedes SUV type vehicles.  They often had bullet holes in them too.  None of our Ford Rangers ever took a hit, but local ANA also used the same type of truck.
